Unschoolers Gathering of Ohio (U.G.O.) - Retreat
Our 5th Annual, 2011 UGO Family Retreat will be Thursday, Sept. 8 - Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 in the beautiful Hocking Hills area of Ohio (~1 hour S.E. of Columbus, Ohio).
The UGO gatherings are for unschoolly families to simply have fun, relax and share time with other families who follow a more child-led, interest based, whole life learning, relaxed, or eclectic homeschooling approach.
For our 2011 UGO, we'll be back at Camp Akita - a top premier lodge/conference center in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. The facility includes an air - conditioned / heated lodge with a large conference center, large wrap around porch with lots of rockers and seating overlooking the scenic lake and hillside below, and several breakout rooms for our group to use as needed for gatherings, funshops, unschooling talks/discussions, etc.. http://www.campakita.org/
Activities and amenities at our camp include a 7 acre private lake with a swim area and floating raft for diving. Canoes and rowboats are available for free! They have basketball and sand volleyball courts. They also have a large fire ring area for group campfires.
Accommodations include private bedrooms with bunk beds in the main lodge. The sleeping quarters all have a nice lounge area with kitchenettes. Also available are several rustic one room cabins, along with a 3 premier cabins.
Registration will begin in April 2011, on a first come basis!!!
